Job summary We are a 46 bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU), part of the acute medical and urgent care Division which includes the Acute Frailty Unit (AFU) & Medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). The Units receive admissions direct from ED which encompass a varied range of medical conditions. We are skilled in caring for patients with specialist requirements such as non-invasive ventilation (NIV/BiPap), airway management, haemorrhage, acute cardiac presentations and many more. Patient flow can be fast paced with patients being discharged or admitted to speciality wards. Length of stay on the Unit is usually We are supported by a wide range of services within the Multi-Disciplinary Team to facilitate safe, efficient discharge from our service & continuous clinical senior nursing cover. You will receive a full supernumerary induction to give you time to get to know your colleagues & complete the required competencies to secure safe practice. We have a dedicated team of Clinical Practice Facilitators who will help you to identify areas of learning & development to enhance your practice. You will develop a wide range of clinical & non-clinical skills to support an advancing career & will develop knowledge of many different medical specialities. You will be expected to take on a link nursing role in a specialism that interests you. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for effectively delivering skilled nursing care to patients using a systemic approach of assessing planning, implementing and evaluating to ensure a high standard of care.
