Underwriting Service Advisor (Part-Time, Job-Share, Full-Time)
Salary: Up to £23,000 depending on experience + excellent package
Contract type: 12 month fixed term contract
Location: You’ll be based in our Fareham office (hybrid working available)

The opportunity

Ideally, you may have some experience in the Insurance Industry and in an Underwriting environment but don’t worry if you don’t! If you have passion for developing and maintaining relationships with our customers and the desire to learn and progress, we will put the time and effort into your development. This also includes recognised qualifications such as CII (Chartered Insurance Institute).
This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.
What will you be doing?
As a member of the Underwriting Service Support team, you will support Underwriters, Brokers and Customers throughout the end-to-end process. Your days will be varied with a mixture of face to face, telephone and written communication with the teams and Global customers you support. All of which will help you to build key relationships with your internal and external customers. Other activities include:
* Collaborates within process stakeholders.
* Acts as a mentor to junior colleagues, assisting with their development and supporting the whole team.
* Meets stipulated timeframes and executes with high quality.
* Supports the offshore team with any training and onboarding on further activities.
* Independently handle and take responsibility for assigned accounts.
* Computing rates and premiums for policies, compiling appropriate declarations, coverage forms, national/local forms, and optional endorsements, to complete a policy.
* Reviewing risk in support of underwriting decisions.
* Proactively escalate any problems and issues related to premium payment to the respective Account Manager, Underwriter and Underwriting Services.
* Provides program overviews and statistics by producing reports from the reporting platform.
* Prepares material for underwriting decision and make underwriting recommendations.
* Follows up and manages on cash collection.
* Prepares and delivers service presentations as required to brokers and/or customers.
* Ensures and maintains data quality and integrity in systems used and performs quality reviews within or across teams.
* Able to identify areas in need of continuous improvement and suggest solutions.
