Data Engineering Manager
High Wycombe plus Hybrid working (2 days per week in the office, three days working from home)
£80,000 + Excellent Benefits
This is a brand-new role, reflecting our client's continuing focus on data as they continue to drive their business objectives through innovative data solutions. As the Data Engineering Manager, you will lead the strategic design, development, and operational management of data-driven solutions that support their overarching business goals. You will champion the enhancement of their data infrastructure, drive improvements in data quality, and foster insights that enable informed decision-making and service optimisation.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Data and Insight, you will collaborate closely with senior business leaders, Process and Systems Managers, and Business Transformation and IT colleagues, ensuring that data solutions align with their needs and strategic objectives. This role also involves liaising with external service providers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Defining and executing their Data Engineering vision and strategy.
2. Providing robust, secure architectural designs to solve business problems efficiently.
3. Leading the development and implementation of solutions for complex data challenges.
4. Ensuring compliance with GDPR and other relevant legislation.
5. Guiding a team of data professionals and fostering a technical culture.
6. Introducing and managing Artificial Intelligence solutions with a view to ROI.
About You:
They are looking for someone with exceptional strategic leadership skills and a passion for leveraging data to drive business improvements. Working via a mixture of office and homeworking, you will be responsible for enhancing their data architecture and improving data quality. With this in mind, experience and knowledge of database management, data processing technologies, data warehouse design, and strong SQL skills are essential. Experience within a housing environment is desirable.
Their ideal candidate has:
* A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in leading data engineering teams.
* Deep understanding of database management, data processing technologies, and data warehouse design.
* Strong data architecture and data modelling skills.
* Experience in data visualization software such as Power BI.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
* A proactive and energetic approach to delivering solutions.
