Job Description:
What you'll be doing?
Within the Construction environment, you'll be involved in buying materials, managing big projects, ensuring health and safety, and providing excellent customer service. We work on approximately 400 developments across the UK, from town centers to rural areas, each with unique challenges, including new builds on brownfield sites and adapting existing structures like old factories or disused hospitals.
We seek individuals who can bring fresh ideas and imagination, along with the ability to manage people, budgets, and costs. Our construction teams are highly professional, evidenced by winning more NHBC Pride in the Job Awards than any other housebuilder for thirteen consecutive years.
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will ensure that all labouring tasks are completed to high standards and within deadlines.
You will be expected to:
1. Carry out all works on site as instructed by the Site Manager and in line with BDW Standards and procedures.
2. Inspect all on-site signage, including sale signs, plot signs, and safety signs, ensuring they are clean and in good repair.
3. Take personal responsibility for health and safety on site and report any breaches to the site manager.
4. Ensure that all protection of fixed material is carried out by the subcontractor responsible, following BDW procedures.
5. Maintain protection of fixed materials until the last possible moment and notify the Site Manager of any removal or misuse.
6. Ensure compound and welfare facilities are maintained.
7. Keep all plots under construction tidy by all trades.
8. Conduct daily walkthroughs of all plots to ensure no surplus materials are left lying around.
9. Segregate and recycle waste across the site following BDW group guidelines.
10. Check show home gardens and public open spaces weekly, removing any rubbish blown onto these areas.
What you'll need?
To be successful, we are looking for:
1. An enthusiastic self-starter capable of using initiative and working independently.
2. Experience working on large volume domestic house building sites.
3. Health and Safety awareness.
4. A current appropriate CSCS or partner scheme card.
