ROLE DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Curriculum Leader of English and Maths to join our expert teaching team and help inspire the next generation at Newcastle College.
Our high-performing English and Maths departments achieve exceptional results, and we are looking to build on this success. The successful candidate will bring passion and subject expertise to the role, leading and delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment for GCSE and Functional Skills students. Working with both young people and adults, you will be committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for all learners.
In this role, you will:
* Deliver engaging and innovative lessons across a variety of programmes ranging from E1 - GCSE.
* Lead curriculum development to enhance the student experience and outcomes.
* Monitor the provision against key performance indicators and benchmarks implementing improvement plans where necessary.
* Undertake line management of direct reports ensuring full and effective communication actors the English and Maths central team.
* Inspire students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and managers across Newcastle College to explore new ways to engage and motivate learners.
* Design and implement interventions to maximise attendance and achievement.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has high expectations of students, is dedicated to their progress, and can develop strong, supportive relationships with them.
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
