We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Maxillofacial Specialty Doctor. As part of the Health Board’s strategic collaboration with Bangor University, individuals with an interest in teaching and research who can demonstrate and agree a possible contribution to the School can be considered and nominated for recognition through the University’s process for granting honorary titles and help to deliver our shared vision for the North Wales School of Medicine and Health. Main duties of the job The major workload of the department is head and neck cancer with microvascular reconstruction, the management of skin cancer and both benign and malignant salivary gland disease. All other areas of maxillofacial surgery are also provided including orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology and temporomandibular joint replacement. In addition there is a comprehensive maxillofacial trauma service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Full registration with General Dental Council Dental core trainee – Year 3 completion F.D.S or M.F.D.S Desirable criteria A.T.L.S Clinical Experience Essential criteria Shall have completed 4 years full time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) since first obtaining registration, including adequate experience in the specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies Practical competence to a level commensurate with the duties of the post as demonstrated by surgical log book.
