To provide a flexible resource to support senior ward and unit teams in the provision of services.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of your manager, colleagues or members of their professional team.
2. Working flexibly for the critical care teams, covering the work of colleagues during peak periods or absence.
3. Providing administrative support to the Deputy Head of Nursing for the daily sitrep and staffing meetings.
4. Collecting, sorting and prioritising incoming mail, including e-mail management for the matron.
5. Provision of professional and timely communication links between patients/relatives and medical/clinical staff to ensure channels of communication are efficient and effective at all times.
6. Responsible for the dissemination of all relevant information to departments, external and internal users (e.g. dissemination of minutes, memos).
7. Encouragement and collation of open and honest feedback formally and informally from patients and service users.
8. Implementing and maintaining both manual and electronic filing systems and databases as required, ensuring all documents are accurately and appropriately archived.
9. Organisation of maintenance repairs or reporting of faults.
10. Responsible for ordering stationery and other equipment whilst monitoring and maintaining stock levels.
11. Work in a person-centred way with all members of the healthcare team.
12. Working closely with the audit lead to conduct audits and input data accurately.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Computer literate including intermediate Word and Excel and use of software packages. GCSE in Maths and English or Equivalent.
* Previous experience working within a busy administrative environment. Base level of knowledge and an understanding of terms relating to the Critical Care Unit. Typing to 40 wpm minimum. Experience of conducting surveys and audits as necessary to own work.
Skills
* Experience of working for and within a team.
* Advanced keyboard skills.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Ability to communicate with, co-ordinate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to remain calm in a busy environment whilst working under pressure.

* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Adaptable.
* Good interpersonal skills e.g. interact with colleagues and clients courteously.
