Home Farm Equine is an independent ambulatory equine practice specialising in the care and treatment of horses throughout the East Midlands.
Are you looking for a new challenge? Our team is expanding, and we are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly Practice Administrator/Receptionist to join our team.
This role is customer-focused, and you will be highly confident in managing and prioritising multiple tasks. The ability to stay calm under pressure in an extremely busy working environment whilst handling a high level of incoming calls is essential.
The role involves:
* Delivering a professional and high level of customer service
* Registering client details and processing payments (in person and over the phone)
* Booking in appointments to maximise the use of veterinary time
* Multi-tasking across all areas and problem-solving
* General office and administration duties
* Accurate record keeping
* Honesty and reliability
* A friendly and confident telephone manner with the ability to deal with upset or distressed clients in a sympathetic and courteous manner
* Assisting our team of vets with any queries they have whilst with clients
* Basic computer literacy skills
* Communicating clearly, effectively, and efficiently between clients, office staff, and vets
* Client account management, including handling payment transactions
The practice administrator may also be required to assist with ordering supplies, unpacking/rotating stock, and monitoring stock levels, with flexibility to carry out additional tasks to meet the needs of the business.
Previous experience in a busy veterinary environment and/or equine knowledge preferred, although full training will be given on the job.
This role is a minimum of 3-4 days a week, with no weekend work required other than potential holiday cover.
Salary negotiable depending on experience.
The successful applicant will be required to be flexible with the reception rota and be able to work additional hours as required (for example, during holidays or sickness).

Pay: £12.35-£13.09 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
