JOB TITLE: Senior R&D Engineer
REPORTING TO: Design Manager
SALARY: Based on Experience
Purpose: To develop and design new products that will assist the company to grow in a profitable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery
1. Manage design projects and develop new products for the company and recommend appropriate timing for introduction to the market.
2. Manage projects through from concept, design, support build and to installation.
3. Co-ordinate with colleagues to support the sales team with technical specifications, site visits and technical advice throughout the process.
4. Meet regularly with the Engineering Manager and Design Team to ensure effective communication of information relative to potential business improvement initiatives.
5. Produce project status reports and other information as required by the Management Team to inform financial, sales and operational planning.
6. Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
7. Co-ordinate with other departments relative to Engineering Design.
8. Follow all Company processes relating to equipment design.
9. Contribute in the company’s continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Ability to work on and oversee multiple projects at any one time.
11. Check and approve drawings using design processes, procedures and checklists.
12. Resolve design quality issues as they arise, managing the design and provide detailed solutions.
13. Develop and train Design Engineers in design office processes and procedures.

PERSON SPECIFICATION – SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER
Qualifications/Experience
Essential:
* Good standard of education (to include English and Maths) with 5 years Design experience gained in a manufacturing environment/quarry and recycling equipment
* OR Educated to degree in an Engineering discipline with 4 years Design experience gained in a manufacturing environment/quarry and recycling equipment
* Experience with CAD design
* Product Development experience
Desirable:
* Project Management experience
* Solid Works or Pro/Engineer experience
Knowledge
Essential:
* Awareness of relevant safety standards
* Manufacturing process awareness
