What will you be doing?
As an EV Project Manager for BES Electrical, you will drive success in our expanding electric vehicle (EV) project portfolio. You will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of EV infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements. This role requires strong leadership to manage a diverse team of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal colleagues, as well as the ability to maintain and grow client relationships.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Project Management : Manage and oversee the entire lifecycle of EV projects from conception through to completion. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Hit key project milestones and manage the construction phase plans effectively
2. Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets and perform valuations to ensure financial accountability and profitability. Review and challenge pricing structures to enhance cost-effectiveness. Control project costs, including labour, materials, and external contractors.
3. Design and Compliance: Approve project designs and ensure they meet regulatory standards and client expectations. Interface with group Health & Safety (H&S) to ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Produce and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
4. Subcontractor and Site Management: Manage relationships with subcontractors, ensuring contracts are clear and adhered to. Coordinate with Distribution Network Operators (DNO) and manage any necessary variations to project plans. Supervise on-site project teams, including managing holidays and absences to ensure project continuity.
5. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key point of contact for project clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. Facilitate regular update meetings with clients and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Chase missing materials and handle the logistics of material supply to maintain project timelines.
6. Strategic and Operational Support: Support surveyors and other project stakeholders in the valuation and application of project deliverables. Chase variation orders and ensure all project alterations are documented and approved by relevant authorities. Coordinate the scheduling and programming of works to maximize efficiency.

To join our team, you will need:
16. To be a Qualified Electrician (essential)
17. Proven experience in project management within the electrical or EV infrastructure sectors.
18. Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L.
19. Excellent leadership abilities and experience managing teams and subcontractors.
20. Robust understanding of the construction, operation, and challenges of EV infrastructure projects.
21. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with various stakeholders including technical and non-technical personnel.
22. Relevant certifications in project management and health and safety (desirable)
