Location: Flexible UK based. Offices are based at Bury, BL9 9HN. Candidates need to be able to travel to the offices when required.
Salary: £65k plus benefits.
Contract: Permanent. Full time - 37.5 hours a week or 4 days week with evening functions/meetings as necessary.
Established in 1996, BABICM is the leading membership organisation for professionals working in brain injury and complex case management. BABICM provides a structure for the continued professional advancement of case management, promoting best practice to address and manage the needs of people with brain injury and other complex conditions.
We are looking for an influential, passionate and committed Chief Executive Officer to be a figurehead for the organisation, cultivate external relationships and ensure delivery of our 3-year strategic plan. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading our employed team here at BABICM, overseeing projects and operations, and ensuring appropriate organisational governance in line with policies and procedures while advising our Board of Directors and Council.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with the Council and the Board to develop BABICM’s strategic and operational plans.
2. Understand the changing context for Case Managers and the delivery of healthcare, considering the impact for the Case Managers.
3. Engage with the membership to understand current issues, future opportunities, and concerns, and how BABICM can support members.
4. Establish and maintain effective relationships with members and represent their interests in a wide range of external settings.
5. Lead the central team in creating the annual budget and oversee the organisation’s financial health.
6. Work with the Council, the Board, and staff to ensure the development and maintenance of a strategic and operational risk framework.
7. Lead, develop, and manage a first-class staff team, ensuring that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion is reflected in all of BABICM’s work.
Essential Competencies:
1. Senior leadership experience in an organisation working with a Board/Council, Staff, and volunteers.
2. A natural and effective communicator, able to act as an ambassador in a wide range of settings.
3. Experience of supporting and delivering robust governance systems and structures.
4. Successful budget and business management with a strong commitment to deliver value for money to the membership.
5. Commitment, interest, and passion for the work of case management.
