Experienced Social Worker - Permanence Team
Job Summary
Wirral Council are seeking dedicated and experienced Social Workers to join our Permanence Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and successful integration into permanent homes. As part of a dynamic team, you will work independently and collaboratively to meet the social care needs of children and families, promoting their independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure Safety and Outcomes: Provide services to ensure children are safe and achieving positive outcomes.
2. Assessment and Support: Offer professional information, assessments, and support to children, young people, and their families.
3. Liaison: Collaborate with internal and external partners for comprehensive assessment and care planning.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, analyse information critically, and follow organisational safeguarding policies.
5. Statutory Duties: Perform statutory duties related to safeguarding concerns.
6. Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work with multi-agency teams to deliver seamless services to children and families with multiple needs.
7. Court Involvement: Prepare reports, attend, and give evidence in court proceedings as needed.
8. Expertise Development: Develop expertise in specific areas of children's social care practice.
9. Investigation: Investigate allegations of neglect or ill-treatment.
10. Supervision: Oversee cases and provide clear direction and support to team members.
Requirements
1. Qualifications: Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent; registered with Social Care England.
2. Professional Development: Evidence of continuing professional development.
3. Legislative Knowledge: Understanding of UK legislation relevant to Children and Families.
4. Multi-Agency Experience: Experience working and leading in a multi-agency environment.
