The Service Sherwood House is a registered care home which runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We provide person-centred care and support to 19 elderly residents who have chosen this home as their place to retire and live happily ever after. Like them, you will also feel a change of pace thanks to the home’s scenery, as it is situated in the small village of Linby who won Nottinghamshire's "best kept village" award in 2013. A local tale recounts that the humble pancake was invented by the women of Linby to celebrate the defeat of Danish invaders. The Role As an Assistant Manager, you will participate in managing an appropriate support and care service for the care home residents. Some of your duties will include but are not limited to: Maintaining and complying with the agreed service delivery standards and statutory requirements Ensuring support is delivered in accordance with NCHA’s principles and values, including formulating, implementing and reviewing individual support plans and risk assessments Ensuring service users’ financial resources are maximised and managed effectively. Deputise for the manager as necessary Recruit, induct, support and develop colleagues, managing and evaluating performance effectively What we are looking for Our ideal candidate is motivated, has great attention to detail, and has comprehensive knowledge of issues relevant to the service user group ( age-related health issues in this case). You must have experience working in a social care environment and experience of operating effectively at a supervisory level. Experience in successfully supporting change in a team and performance management is highly desirable for this role. You will have good IT skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: You must hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or another relevant equivalent qualification in post expected to achieve Level 3 qualification. You will be fully supported to reach your potential through our many development opportunities. Working Hours Your usual working hours will be 09:00- 16:30, Monday to Friday. You may need to cover a variation of 24-hour shift patterns to support the service delivery, which may include late shifts, waking nights and weekend work. Travelling to Sherwood House Due to its location, candidates who can drive are highly desirable, as public transport involves a 20-minute walk to the care home from The National School in Hucknall, which is the furthest the threes buses (Trent Barton) can take you to in your journey to us.
