Prescribing Support Technician - Band 5
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician to join the primary care Diabetes Cardio-Renal Optimisation team in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board on a fixed term basis for 12 months. The post is for up to 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE) fixed term up until 31/03/26. This would involve a mixture of office and remote working.
Main duties of the job
The Main Responsibilities Include:
* To provide technical assistance to the lead pharmacy technician to aid the delivery of the cardio-renal optimisation service to GP practices.
* Ensuring safe, evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing.
* Carry out audits of patient data to identify suitable patients to invite for a cardio-renal optimisation review.
* Liaise with GP practices to arrange collection of patient data from their clinical system.
* Linking with community pharmacies when implementing any medication changes.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
