We are seeking a detail-oriented Software System Tester to join our newly created physical access control development team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our system through thorough testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
Key responsibilities:
1. Test Planning and Design: Collaborate with software developers and business analysts to understand project requirements and create detailed test plans and test cases. Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test scripts.
2. Testing and Validation: Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies. Perform root cause analysis and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
3. Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. Continuously improve test automation practices to enhance efficiency and coverage.
4. Documentation and Reporting: Document test results, create detailed defect reports, and provide regular updates on testing progress. Prepare comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations for improving software quality.
Profile
Qualifications/Skills:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Experience: Proven experience as a Software Tester or in a similar role. Experience with both manual and automated testing. Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
3. Skills: Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Proficient in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes. Knowledge of SQL and scripting is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience working with hardware connectivity to software.
4. Mandatory Qualifications: Strong French and English language skills.
5. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with performance and/or security testing. ISTQB certification or equivalent.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (8.30am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday - 30 min lunch break). Hybrid working – Working from home once a week.
