Join Lancashire County Council as an Environmental Planning Officer
Shape the future of transport in Lancashire by becoming a crucial part of our multi-disciplinary team working on major transport planning applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for planning applications.
2. Produce supporting documents for Environmental Statements and Habitat Regulations Assessments.
3. Provide environmental advice on planning applications and discharge of planning conditions.
4. Review documentation from specialists to make informed recommendations.
What we're looking for:
1. You will have experience of working within a planning team; it would be great if you also understand the principles of EIA coordination and environmental planning policies. It would be hugely beneficial if you also held a degree in planning or an environmental field.
2. You should be confident using specialised systems and GIS mapping software.
3. You will have excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and use your expertise to influence decision-making.
