About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Treasury Management Officer to join the Corporate Team within Finance Services.
Reporting to the Tax & Treasury Management Senior Accountant, you will support the provision of a comprehensive Treasury Management function for the Council and assist in the co-ordination and direction of the workload within the team.
About you
You will play a key role in ensuring the council fulfils its Treasury obligations, including borrowing, investment, cash flow management, banking and money market transactions.
As well as responsibility for the delivery of accurate and robust financial information to support the Council’s statutory and business critical financial functions, the role includes creating bespoke financial models and appraisals, assessing new opportunities / developments and inputting to key decisions.
Key duties include:
1. Production and oversight of the Council’s annual cashflow projections.
2. Carrying out day to day Treasury activity, including the analysis of borrowing and investment opportunities.
3. Managing the risk associated with these activities while striving to achieve optimal performance.
4. Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of treasury budgets, ensuring that transactions are accounted for correctly to produce year-end accounts and returns.
5. Financial advice and support together with the production /analysis of accurate financial information to stakeholders throughout the Council, liaising with our partners and advisors.
6. Management of the Council’s banking & purchase card contracts and the school investment scheme.
