We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team at Heysham 1 Nuclear Power Station. This is a unique opportunity to be part of exciting and innovative nuclear projects. The role involves overseeing site activities, managing personnel, and ensuring safety and compliance in line with our standards and the client’s requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Management of Resources: Oversee Shared Services resources and ensure effective utilisation.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety of all personnel and full compliance with Cape’s Integrated Management System and client policies.
• Client Satisfaction: Meet client needs for Shared Services across the site while complying with statutory, corporate, and client requirements.
• Supervision: Select and manage all discipline supervisors, ensuring cooperation between different teams and contractors.
• Cost Efficiency: Investigate and implement innovative methods to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Material Coordination: Manage material requirements for site activities.
• Workforce Management: Manage the workforce, including determining training needs and coordinating with the training department.
• Labour Management: Maintain stable and economical manning levels to meet client requirements and communicate changes promptly.
• Accident Investigation: Assist the HSE Advisor in investigating accidents and incidents.
• Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with client discipline coordinators and other key stakeholders.
• Project Coordination: Attend ongoing project and safety meetings, and report against key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Method & Efficiency: Ensure the most cost-effective work methods are used and savings from efficiency improvements are reported.
• Planning & Quality Liaison: Collaborate closely with planning and quality functions to meet project goals.
• Training & Development: Identify training requirements for the workforce and coordinate with the Operation Manager to arrange training sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
• Commitment to Safety: A strong personal commitment to safety and compliance with safety regulations.
• Experience: Previous experience at Site Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Supervisor level within the industrial services / nuclear sector.
• Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication skills with a proactive and flexible approach to meet client expectations.
• Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of project costs and commercial impacts.
• Recruitment & Line Management: Practical experience in recruitment and line management.
• Customer Service & Integrity: Committed to delivering high standards of customer service with a high level of personal integrity.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in computer applications and able to prioritize and deliver under high-pressure business environments.
• Nuclear Industry Experience (Preferred): Previous experience in a nuclear setting is highly advantageous.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
