Catering Assistant - Term Time Only - 10am till 2pm

A private day school for girls in Guildford catering for about 1100 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of AM snack, Lunch PM snack, and match teas with some fabulous hospitality. Additionally, this location benefits from great transport links.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious contracts in Guildford.
Role Requirements (Tasks & Responsibilities):
* Serve clients during breakfast, lunch, or dinner service.
* Help set up the dining room for service.
* Prepare food for service, following good hygiene and safety practices.
* Ensure the kitchen is left clean and tidy to the required standard of the Chef Manager.
* Clear, clean, and store away any food, beverage, or equipment required for special functions.
* Restock and replenish stocks and consumables as required during service periods.
* Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment and properly clean and store equipment and areas.
* Complete all necessary cleaning/hygiene duties.
* Interact and acknowledge all customers and client staff.
General Responsibilities:
* Adhere to all policies and procedural requirements of legislation and company.
* Wear the correct uniform neatly and cleanly.
* Carry out necessary checks for food temperatures in service areas.
* Carry out all reasonable requests of management.
* Report any hazards to the manager.
Key Personal Skills and Attributes:
* Previous experience in a catering environment.
* Experience serving customers within a catering establishment.
* Team working abilities, listening skills, and the ability to work on own initiative.
* Impeccable personal presentation, hygiene, and behavior towards others.
* Food hygiene certificate preferred.
* Adaptability and flexibility as necessary.
* Reliability, honesty, and an open approach to customer service.
* Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility.
* Ability to manage moderately heavy lifting, carrying, and pushing.
* Good understanding and use of verbal English.
* Good standard of written English and reading skills.
* Similar experience in customer and/or food preparation environment preferred.
