Fire Safety advisor needed in Nottingham, £170 per day PAYE - Reference: RQ1503792 Support the Building Safety manager and provide competent advice to our internal Fire Safety Forum (chaired by the BSM) and attend other relevant meetings as required. Contribute to the development and lead on the implementation of NCHA’s fire safety strategy; developing and embedding fire safety procedures, policies and guidance, and develop and lead in-house fire safety training for colleagues. Manage fire safety improvement projects and provide competent technical and regulatory advice to internal; ensuring that fire safety/action information is accessible. Develop clear and unambiguous fire safety advice for customers; attending consultation meetings to promote engagement with improved fire safety. Ensure that residents who are unable to self-evacuate from relevant buildings are identified and personal emergency plans are in place and communicated to the relevant Fire and Rescue Service. Maintain the skills and competence required by the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order and keep up to date with relevant legislation, standards and best practice; communicating changes to appropriate stakeholders. With regard to buildings within scope of the Building Safety Act only support the Building Safety Manager in the preparation and maintenance of the Fire and Emergency File and Safety Case for relevant buildings. Be the point of contact for customers, the local Fire and Rescue Services in respect of fire or safety concerns, and lead resident safety engagement in buildings within scope. Support the BSM to provide the Building Safety Regulator with documentation and communication. Ensure that building and customer information and keys for the Fire and Rescue Service are kept up to date within fire premises boxes. Ensure that all statutory fire and safety tests, risk assessments and inspections are up to date within relevant buildings, and that actions arising are completed within accepted timeframes and to current standards. Liaise with and support project managers and contractors to carry out refurbishment, maintenance and repair work within relevant buildings; providing constructive challenge to the fire risk assessment contractor to maximise quality, performance and efficiency.
