What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recovery pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.
This is a bank, 0 Hour Contract and shifts are 12.5 hours per day.
Where you will be working
Location: Dyke Road Avenue, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 5LE
You will be working at Dane House, an immaculate six-bed service for people with Learning Disabilities and/or with complex needs and behaviours that challenge. It boasts a range of communal amenities including sensory facilities and a large garden.
You will be caring for people who may have transitioned from residential schools or colleges, moved out of the family home, or who need to move from a failed placement in the community.
Dane House is within easy distance of local shops, leisure facilities, churches, and cafes, and is just 3 miles from the centre of Brighton. Brighton has excellent transportation links across Sussex and the south coast, and London is just an hour away by train.
