Job Title: Operations Engineer Location: Swadlincote Salary: £50-£60k About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in improving quality and efficiency in our assembly and service processes within the local operation. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing our manufacturing and service excellence by evaluating processes, managing change initiatives, and collaborating across departments. Key Responsibilities: Process Evaluation & Improvement: Design and conduct research programs to evaluate, improve, and quantify manufacturing processes. Apply expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to drive improvements. Collaborate with equipment vendors and gather insights from operators to refine processes. Change Management: Own and manage the Change Management Process to support improvements related to NCRs, Design to Cost, and Design for Manufacture initiatives. Supplier & Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to ensure that design requirements and capabilities are aligned and optimized. Partner with engineering teams to promote standardization and effectively capture ROE (Return on Excellence). Global Standardization: Review, improve, and implement standardized global procedures to ensure consistent quality across operations. Tool & Equipment Oversight: Verify the availability and upgrade needs of tools and equipment required for site activities. Ensure that the correct set of tools and equipment is accessible at the site. Training & Development: Initiate and perform training for local staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet operational objectives. Efficiency Studies: Participate in and lead efficiency studies of assembly and overhaul procedures, constantly searching for opportunities to improve processes and develop new methods. Ideal Candidate Profile: Technical Expertise: Vast technical knowledge and hands-on experience with products and processes. Educational Background: A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
