About the Role
Our client, a welcoming coeducational all-through school and sixth form based in Chatteris, is seeking a proactive and caring Primary Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children at the start of their educational journey and contribute to a nurturing learning environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to assist in the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the primary phase, providing targeted support for pupils of varying abilities and needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with additional needs
* Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere
* Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom displays
* Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
* Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and school activities as required
Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience working with primary-aged children in an educational setting
* A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under direction
* A commitment to promoting inclusion and supporting all learners
