Accounts Assistant required to join our successful and expanding business.

Reporting to the Management team, key duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:
1. Assisting the management team in preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
2. Preparation of management accounts.
3. Preparation of VAT returns.
4. Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
5. General office and administrative duties.
We are looking for candidates who are qualified by experience and currently working within an accountancy practice. However, consideration will also be given to school leavers, college leavers (HNC & HND level) and graduate applicants who have achieved (or will achieve) a minimum of a 2:1 in your chosen subject as well as a minimum of 4 Scottish Highers (or HNC / HND equivalent) – these must include English and Mathematics. This higher requirement is also applicable to school leaver applicants.

To be considered for the role you must have a positive attitude and be a confident and effective communicator who is hard working and dedicated. You must have strong communication skills and have the ability to work using your own initiative and to strict deadlines.
Knowledge of accounting packages such as Xero, Sage Line 50 and IRIS and also being comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel would be useful but is not essential.
