As a Fostering Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to children and young people in foster care placements, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall positive experience. Working closely with foster carers and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to creating stable and nurturing environments for vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people entering or already in foster care placements. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and young people in foster care, in collaboration with foster carers, families, and relevant professionals. Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advocacy to children, young people, and foster carers throughout the duration of foster care placements. Monitor and evaluate the progress and well-being of children and young people in foster care, addressing any emerging needs or concerns promptly. Work collaboratively with external agencies, including schools, healthcare providers, and local authorities, to coordinate holistic support services for children and young people in foster care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and case progress, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree or diploma in social work. Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England). Two years post qualifications & Fostering experience Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children in care.
