Eaton Corporation Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Middlesex, North Carolina
Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Middlesex, NC facility.
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the creation, ownership, and improvement of processes throughout the plant. In this role, you will also have responsibilities across the plant including the following activities: capital projects, safety improvements, cost reduction / cost out projects, product cost estimating, developing and maintaining production standards and standard work. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will assist in the coordination of the capital spending program, ensuring accuracy of BOM and routings within the ERP system, and assisting in new product launch during and after implementation.
What you’ll do:
1. Lead efforts to proactively identify opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and reduce Costs, also prioritize safety and develop solutions for open concerns.
2. Provide day to day support for the manufacturing team, including investigating, analyzing and troubleshooting for product design, materials, tooling, equipment, production methods and processes.
3. Develop or purchase manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling, create and improve manufacturing documentation, including operator method sheets (work instructions), standard work, and other instruction.
4. Employ Value Stream Maps to evaluate process current state and plan/execute future state and implement Cost Reduction projects.
5. Identify and implement new manufacturing methods and process modification recommendations for reduction of waste, cost, enhanced safety, or improved delivery.
6. Develop cost justification and project plans for new/modified tooling, machinery, or other Capital Projects.
7. Coordinate implementation of new products into manufacturing. Create, review and approve product and process test reports necessary to gain customer approval of new or modified product designs.
8. Establish, maintain, and audit Engineering Specifications, Bills of Material, Process Routers, Production Standards, and Process FMEA’s for new and existing products.
9. Participate with multi-functional product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs through the ProLaunch process and identify resource needs for the plant, assist in preparing budgets and major appropriation requests.
10. Assist in evaluation of potential and existing suppliers and provide support for resolution of supplier quality concerns.
11. Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals and philosophies and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
2. Minimum of three (3) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
4. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
5. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Middlesex, NC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
2. Minimum of three (3) years experience in process development.
3. PPAP knowledge and experience.
4. Experience leading large CAPEX projects or new product development projects.

1. Understanding of change management processes.
2. Understanding of Lean and 6 Sigma Tools.
3. Proficiency in Product Data Management systems for document control and workflow management.
4. Understanding of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques, and material science.
5. Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.
7. Knowledge of standard manufacturing process in an Aerospace environment.
