The post holders will not have any out of hours responsibilities. The Locum Specialty Doctor will be expected to accumulate their own out-patient load from new referrals and help out with known patients in out-patients, and pick up ongoing patient management through the team as appropriate.
The Locum Specialty Doctor is expected to contribute to the bio psychosocial model of care with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team. This includes history taking, mental state examination of all patients and the physical examination of outpatients where appropriate.
The treatments may be physical, pharmacological, psychological and social as appropriate. The CAMHS team offers various psychological therapies such as CBT, family therapy, IPT, and DBT. There is an on-site Duty Consultant every day of the week to support any urgent assessments.
