Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.
Job Description:
As part of the electrical engineering team, you will be involved in the design, specification and services relating to Electrical engineering for projects relating to energy transition. This may be a conceptual study or front-end engineering design (FEED) or an EPC / detailed design execution involving the procurement of all equipment and detailed drawings for the construction and commissioning of an entire facility. There will be a focus within the design on cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and quality at all stages of the projects.
You will be involved in various project stages from concept to detailed design through to construction, testing and handover which may be offshore or onshore - greenfield or brownfield, refining, hydrogen, renewables etc. You will have responsibility for electrical deliverables, managing equipment packages or system studies etc.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Working in a multi-disciplinary project team, which is likely to include engineers from other specialisms including mechanical, structural, civil and instrumentation, liaising with clients, vendors and contractors.
2. Taking a proactive role in the design of electrical systems to required specifications, focusing on cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and quality.
3. Completing tasks as allocated by the lead engineer to meet project deliverables.
4. Creating and interpreting design specifications, data sheets, schematics and layout drawings for energy transition installations (onshore and offshore).
5. Designing electrical systems for oil, gas, LNG, Ammonia, Hydrogen, CO2 sequestration etc.
6. Specifying electrical equipment for example, HV and LV switchgear, transformers and UPS systems.
7. Selecting and applying the relevant codes and standards applicable to the electrical systems design.
Skills & Experience:
1. Experience working in electrical engineering in Concept / FEED / EPC project phases for Energy Transition Projects.
2. Interpreting technical drawings and/or creating or checking schematics or other electrical drawings.
3. Managing electrical interfaces between packages including GTGs and Switchgear.
4. Vendor package management (electrical and mechanical packages).
5. Good working knowledge of Electrical design at 132kV to 400V.
6. Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Educational Experience:
1. Bachelors/Masters degree in an Electrical Engineering subject with relevant industry experience.
2. Chartered engineer status with a relevant professional body.
