The role of Legal Cashier will report directly to the Finance Manager. To undertake all accounting and bookkeeping duties within the firm. Key Tasks Daily Bank reconciliations. Payments by CHAPS/BACS/ Foreign Payments. Ensuring correct allocation of Client funds. Banking. Billing. Dealing with clients both in person and by telephone. Dealing with internal enquiries. Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment. Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures. Any other duties, which from time to time are required by the firm. Person specification Essential Skills: Literate and numerate- maintaining a high level of accuracy, ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships. Knowledge: Knowledge of the Solicitors accounts rules, knowledge of Legal Accounts software. Experience: Experience as a cashier in a solicitor’s office. Desirable: Knowledge: A recognised solicitor’s accounts qualification. Experience: A good level of computer literacy, especially with MS Word and Excel
