Overview
We are seeking an Assistant to join our team in our rural nursery setting over each lunch time from 11:30 AM until 2 PM to work with children aged 0-5 years where support is needed. This job can be between 4-5 days per week (negotiable). The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and possess strong communication skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children and contribute to their growth and development.
This job can lead to extra bank staff work throughout the year if desired.
Responsibilities
- Support the nursery staff in managing daily activities
- Engage with children, providing care and supervision
- Monitor children whilst eating and support self-help skills
- Support weaning plans
- Support sleep routines in the youngest rooms
- Maintain full awareness of allergies within the setting
- Communicate effectively with both children and staff
- Contribute to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare/schools is desirable
- Enjoy educational experiences with children
- Engage in back-and-forth conversations with children and show enthusiasm for reading stories
- Proficiency in the English language
- A caring and patient attitude towards children
- Food and hygiene training (can be completed in-house)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £25.00 per day
Expected hours: 12.5 per week
