We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recruitment, Retention, and Pastoral Lead Midwife to join our maternity team. This role is essential in supporting the recruitment and retention of midwives while ensuring their pastoral well-being. You will work collaboratively with workforce teams, senior midwifery leaders, and external partners to develop strategies that attract, support, and retain skilled midwives.
As a key advocate for staff welfare, you will lead initiatives to enhance midwife experience, provide pastoral support, and create a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Your role will include mentoring, workforce planning, and implementing policies that promote staff engagement and well-being.
You must be able to influence others through support and education for maternity staff to improve retention and recruitment. This will include supporting early career midwives, pastoral care for maternity staff, and providing support for newly appointed staff, including induction training.
The role will involve working with Regional and National Leads to support the Retention programme as retention is a key component of the People Plan and the NHS Long-term plan.
