Pertemps are looking for an experienced School Cleaner to take on a 9 month Mon-Fri assignment at a secondary school near Braintree.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the school. Will work as part of a team to perform a variety of regular and one-off cleaning tasks and duties as directed by their supervisor/line manager.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 4 PM – 8PM (after school)
Long Term 9 Months during School Term
£15/ per hour via Agency Umbrella, paid every Friday
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cleaning certain parts of the school site
2. Vacuuming carpeted areas and washing floors
3. Sweeping uncarpeted areas
4. Emptying and cleaning bins
5. Spot cleaning of spillages
6. Cleaning desks, seats, and skirting board
7. Cleaning doors and windows
8. Checking stock levels of cleaning materials
9. Reporting all defects/hazards immediately to the supervisor
10. Follow all health and safety regulations.
11. Be kind and collaborative with all members of staff at all times
The main duties are general cleaning, classrooms, occasionally the food hall, dusty, sweep, emptying bins and mopping the corridors etc. Cleaning offices & corridoors are the key requirements.
Skills and experience
12. A reasonable level of fitness
13. Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
14. Able to manage time effectively
15. Ability to work both alone and in a team
16. Awareness of health and safety procedures
17. Must have experience working as a cleaner or a cleaner within a school setting
18. Must own an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be happy to process one with Pertemps
19. Available 4 hours in the evening Monday to Friday immediately, ideally for 9 months but not essential.
Overseeing and initial guidance will be provided by site supervisor.
Uniforms/overall will also be provided unless you would prefer to wear your own.
