An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Medical Secretary based within the Cardiology team at University Hospital Hairmyres.
As a Lead Medical Secretary, you will supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks to provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently and ensuring the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures.

What we'll need you to bring
1. SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent knowledge)
2. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
3. Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
4. Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
5. Advanced audio typing skills
6. Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
7. Excellent organisational skills
8. Proven ability to work under pressure
It would be great if you also have
1. Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence
2. Knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Trakcare and Winscribe
