My client, who delivers integrated site investigation and other services across the UK, is seeking a full-time Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis to join their transactional finance team in Gillingham.
Your New Role
Responsibilities and Activities:
1. Raising the following in the Finance System Evision:
1. New Project details
2. Contract Sales Orders
3. Application for Payments
4. Contract Sales Invoices
5. Purchase Orders
6. Purchase Invoices and checking their validity against the Purchase Order
7. Credit notes
2. Creating new Customers and Vendors in the Finance System
3. Running debtor reporting
4. Bank reconciliations
5. Processing Credit Card expenses and ensuring all relevant receipts have been provided
6. Preparing and issuing statements as necessary
7. Maintaining credit control operations in collaboration with colleagues to ensure swift resolution of any required actions
8. Reconciliation of supplier statements
9. Running a VAT return
10. Running a Supplier payment run
11. Responding to time-critical emails and actions from clients or colleagues in good time
12. Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Financial Controller, Group Transactional Manager, or CFO to support Finance, HR, and/or Operational staff
What You'll Need to Succeed
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
1. A good understanding of Sale Ledger / Purchase Ledger / Credit Control
2. Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Teams
3. Good organisation, with efficient attention to detail
4. Communication skills with both internal colleagues and external suppliers
5. Time management with the inclusion of working to tight deadlines
6. Adaptability and flexibility to work within a fast-paced environment
7. Qualified by experience and/or qualification higher than secondary education
Desirable:
1. Understanding of the industry in which the Group operates
2. Experience within a Finance department
3. Industry experience
