The role: We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and manage our very exciting multi-million-pound Marine Centre Transformation along with other projects. The successful candidate will have responsibility for delivery of a number of projects within scope, time and budget, as well as maintaining and monitoring a comprehensive project plan and outlining key milestones, deliverables and dependencies for each work package. You will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including work package leads, senior management, contractors, and regulatory bodies, whilst managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating decision-making to ensure project success. Role Responsibilities: Project Management: Ensure successful delivery of all project objectives within scope, time, and budget. Maintain and monitor a comprehensive project plan, outlining key milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines for each work package. Ensure all project activities adhere to the ports Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines and governance framework. Champion the port PMO ways of working Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including work package leads, senior management, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Ensure effective communication and reporting on project status, risks, and issues to the Head of Project Management and other stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate decision-making to ensure project success. RAID Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies that could impact project delivery, developing mitigation strategies as needed. Maintain a RAID log and ensure timely resolution of any challenges. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliverables. Prepare regular status reports for the Head of Project Management and other key stakeholders, highlighting achievements, risks, and areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and recommending enhancements to the project. Working with work package lead the review the success of the operational VTS implementation and the adaptation of pilots to the new system, making recommendations for further training or system adjustments as needed. What we are looking for: The successful candidate will have: Bachelors degree in a related field. Proven experience (5 years) in project management, particularly in marine, port, or construction projects. Experience with project management methodologies and tools, such as PRINCE2 or APM, certification preferred. For this role, the criteria are: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced pressurised operational environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of marine operations, construction, relocation/business change projects, navigation systems, stakeholder management.
