Shift Electrician – Industrial Manufacturing Site
Shift Hour: 12 Hours/Day (3 Days on - 3 Days Off; 3 Days on (Night shift) - 3 Days off)
Duration: Permanent (Full Time)
We're looking for a Shift Electrician to join a fast-paced industrial site, providing essential maintenance, repair, and support across a range of electrical systems. This is a hands-on role working on shift, helping to ensure equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities:
* Carry out inspections and maintenance of electrical equipment, including work in hazardous areas (DSEAR, ATEX).
* Ensure all work complies with current Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
* Work in line with the latest electrical regulations (18th Edition, BS7671).
* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues quickly and effectively.
* Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise plant downtime.
* Read and produce wiring diagrams as required.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
* Support minor electrical projects to improve and maintain site systems.
* Provide electrical assistance to Operations and Maintenance teams as needed.
* Accept and work under permit-to-work systems in accordance with site safety procedures.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas and workshops.
What we’re looking for:
* Essential:
* City & Guilds Level 1 & 2 (or above) in Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems and associated hazards.
* 18th Edition BS7671.
* Desirable:
* C&G 2391 or 2394/2395 certification in testing and inspection.
* CompEx EX01-04 (EX05-06 also desirable).
* Experience working in industrial or chemical manufacturing environments.
