Are you a time served precision engineer who has developed your career into senior management? Do you have experience in the sub contract sector, ideally dealing with aerospace? Are you looking for new opportunities as a General Manager? If so, I'd be keen to speak to you.
Due to growth at the North East facility, a new position has been created for a General Manager. In this role, you'll report directly to the MD based at Head Office. You'll control all operations at the North East site and its existing management team.
What you'll be responsible for:
1. Provide effective leadership to the North East management team.
2. Guarantee that a safe and compliant work environment is maintained at all times.
3. Consistently drive monthly sales output versus target.
4. Ensure all job holder roles are clearly understood, have relevant performance metrics, and that appropriate accountability is maintained at all times.
5. Maximise and maintain production efficiency through effective use of all available resources; adjusting manufacturing methodology where appropriate.
6. Engage with all members of the workforce to maximise employee performance ensuring appropriate people development and training plans are in place to support this.
7. Maintain regular dialogue with the MD on all relevant aspects of the business and its operations.
8. Develop practical, comprehensive, and sustainable ideas for improvement.
Your Qualities:
1. Level headed with a consistent management style and approach.
2. The ability to quickly react to business issues and drive necessary follow-up actions as appropriate.
3. Strong and effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
4. Excellent planning and organising skills.
5. Hands-on team player with a “can do” attitude.
6. Analytical with a keen eye for detail whilst not losing sight of a helicopter view.
Your Background:
1. Apprentice trained time served engineer with detailed hands-on specific manufacturing experience with an ever-changing product portfolio.
2. Experience of AS9100 environment or similar quality environment.
3. Proven track record of Site Management in a similar role coupled with demonstrable positive performance metrics.
4. Appropriate technical machining and quality knowledge using a variety of manufacturing methods and materials.
5. Detailed knowledge and understanding of OHSE in the workplace.
6. Successful implementation of positive change management projects.
