Join a community that cares about you More about your role The key accountabilities include weekly cleaning of communal areas (dusting, wiping, descaling, vacuuming, mopping) and student kitchen checks. Responsibilities also involve end-of-tenancy deep cleans, using cleaning machinery, and cleaning up spills. The role requires servicing conference rooms, moving furniture and soft furnishings, room packing, inventory completion, stock monitoring, and assisting contractors. Ensuring safe storage of cleaning materials and adherence to the COSHH register is essential. Working closely with the Derwent FM team, reporting issues, and taking initiative are key. General responsibilities include attending training, maintaining housekeeping and safety, fostering good relationships, complying with company policies, and sharing process improvements. More About you The role requires experience in a similar environment, with the safe use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and machinery, ideally trained to BICS Standards or equivalent NVQ Levels 1 or 2. Essential skills include good communication, the ability to follow instructions, use technology effectively, and a customer-focused attitude. The candidate should be proactive, capable of working independently, completing tasks to a high standard within agreed timescales, and knowledgeable about Health & Safety and COSHH regulations. Self-motivation, organisation, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team are crucial. Desirable qualifications include experience with an accommodation provider, NVQ cleaning qualification, Key Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, Manual Handling and Customer Service Training, knowledge of stock control procedures, and an understanding of working in multi-occupancy buildings like hotels or schools.
