Salary: £12.00 per hour
Availability: Applicants must be flexible as hours of work/shifts will vary each week. Availability to do overnights during weekdays and weekends is required. However, the regular weekly hours will be approximately 4 hours.
Job Details:
Support Worker / Buddy (P/T) required to support a young man with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. You will provide social support and companionship within the local community, ensuring his safety at all times. The young man has very little communication skills; therefore, patience is required to allow him to communicate his needs and feelings clearly. Continuity and consistency are very important to him. He enjoys going for walks on nice days and using his pool in his garden.
Candidate Requirements:
We are looking for individuals who are calm, patient, and able to recognize his anxieties and associated behaviors. It is essential that you have experience of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and managing associated seizures, as well as administering medication when required.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
Experience of supporting young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and dealing with seizures is essential. You must be a driver with the use of your own car and a full clean driver’s license; business insurance would be required. Please note that mileage allowance will be paid if using your car for work duties.
Additional Information:
This position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Successful applicants will have to provide 2 references (one of which must be your current or most recent employer) and undergo a New PVG Disclosure at the employer's cost.
