Engineer / Workshop Engineer (Food machinery) Job Title: Engineering Assistant / Workshop Engineer Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Up to £35k North Birmingham area Role Overview: Our client specialises in sourcing and supplying high-quality new and used food processing equipment to meet the diverse needs of businesses in the food industry. The Engineering Assistant will assist with maintenance, repairs and refurbishments of food machinery, general maintenance tasks and administrative duties. Key Responsibilities: Disassembling, refurbishing, and rebuilding various types of food machinery. Mechanical repairs Maintaining cleanness of equipment and machinery Operating machine tools such as drills, and grinders to fabricate parts required for maintenance, overhaul Assembling machinery and equipment before installation using hand and power tools. Maintaining a clean and organized engineering workshop, toolboxes, and spare parts. Loading and unloading Performing general DIY tasks, including basic plumbing, carpentry. Manual handling of stock around the depot. Maintaining a library of part lists and other administrative tasks Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in general machinery maintenance, basic electrical & DIY tasks. Electrical Qualification Level 2 minimum Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance Ideally, experience within a food machinery Excellent verbal and written communication skills A valid UK driving license. A forklift license (preferred). Tech savvy A good knowledge of Microsoft Office
