Orchard Community Trust is a Stoke on Trent based Multi-Academy Trust that caters for children from EYFS to KS4 across five Primary Schools and two specialist SEND schools, with responsibility for over 2500 children.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the Chief Finance Officer to ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
* Lead on the procurement of outsourced contracts and unify MAT-wide contracts for economies of scale.
* Support the central team with budget management and reporting.
* Assist schools in maintaining accurate financial records and budget setting processes.
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of staff, children, and young people.
Main Duties:
* Assist the CFO in preparing financial documentation and reports.
* Prepare for statutory financial year-end accounts.
* Conduct financial reviews and benchmarking of school expenditures.
* Support audit preparation and response activities.
* Ensure compliance with the Trust’s financial responsibilities as per the Education Funding Agency’s Academies Trust handbook.
* Prepare the annual revenue plan for the central team.
* Provide budget holders with accurate financial data on an ad hoc basis.
* Ensure compliant procurement of goods and services to support educational objectives.
* Lead procurement and contracting activities across various categories.
* Identify opportunities for savings on all spend categories.
* Review contract delivery and address supplier underperformance.
* Negotiate contracts to improve terms and conditions with suppliers.
General Responsibilities:
* Responsible for own Continuous Professional Development.
* Assist the CFO and CEO with ad-hoc tasks and represent the Trust as a promotional ambassador.
* Take personal responsibility for health and safety.
* Maintain effective working relationships as a professional member of the central team.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding financial reports and sensitive information.
