Who is this Role Ideal For? This role is perfect for qualified Food Technology teachers who have experience teaching Key Stage 3 & 4. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and interactive Food Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. Plan and prepare lessons that cover a range of topics, including food preparation, nutrition, food safety, and sustainability. Teach students practical cooking skills, focusing on developing their confidence and ability in the kitchen. Promote healthy eating habits and encourage students to make informed choices about nutrition and food preparation. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning. Collaborate with other teachers to develop a dynamic curriculum and ensure students receive a well-rounded education in food and nutrition. Qualifications and Requirements: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent is essential. A degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field. Experience teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4. Strong classroom management and organisational skills. Passion for food education and inspiring students to develop practical and theoretical knowledge. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the development of the curriculum. Valid Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education). An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years. Right to work in the UK. Must be within a 10-mile radius of Portsmouth (PO1, PO10, PO12, PO13). Skills: Ability to deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons. Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and sustainability.
