Who You Are You are a qualified Senior Social Worker with a comprehensive understanding of mental health legislation and statutory duties, including the Equality Act 2010 and Care Act 2014. You have excellent communication skills and uphold high standards of professional practice. With considerable experience managing complex cases, you are adept at supervising both qualified and non-qualified staff. You are confident in your ability to provide a strong social work voice within the team, promoting social work ethics and values. If you have Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) experience, you are well-suited for supervising fellow AMHPs and participating in the Bexley-wide AMHP rota. For less experienced candidates, recently qualified social workers are also welcomed, supported to develop skills and complete the ASYE program. What the Job Involves As a Senior Social Worker within Bexley's Intensive Case Management for Psychosis (ICMP) Team and the Home Treatment Team (HTT), you will provide intensive case management for individuals diagnosed with Psychosis or Bipolar Disorder. You focus on assessment, engagement, relapse prevention, self-management, and recovery to enhance clients' ability to live independently. The role includes supervising other social workers, both qualified and non-qualified, and working on multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery. You will complete and update risk assessments, conduct support planning and reviews, and ensure safeguarding in accordance with the Care Act 2014. You play a crucial role in crisis intervention by making clear decisions on risk management and the appropriateness of home treatment interventions. Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and promoting the rights of vulnerable adults is a core responsibility. You may also develop reports for legal processes and fulfill the role of an Approved Mental Health Professional or work towards associated qualifications, supported by your team.
