Payments Security is looking for world class security-minded Technical Program Manager who can design, drive and launch new initiatives that impact not just Payments, but entire Amazon. The qualified candidate will own and drive technical strategy and direction for large and complex initiatives that enables Amazon to continue to securely scale for new business and markets worldwide.
This role requires working closely with businesses across Amazon, the product management team, the payments development team, and key software development and security engineering teams across the company to define strategy and requirements, and then lead projects through operations design and delivery. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy. Excellent listening, writing skills and strong technical competency are essential.
The ideal candidate has thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities shift quickly. He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence.
Qualified candidates have experience defining projects and features, collecting requirements, writing detailed functional and test specifications, coordinating large cross functional projects and schedules, and delivering complex projects with accurate results at high scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
2. 5+ years of relevant work experience in internet-related technical program management in a software applications environment
3. 3+ years experience in a software development or program manager role
4. Hands-on knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, risk analysis, and software testing techniques
5. Experience designing and delivering software
6. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
7. Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
8. Broad commercial awareness developed in a fast-moving environment
9. Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skill
10. Innovative and self-directed
11. Excellent problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience with agile or other program management methodologies
2. Master's degree in Computer Science and/or Business Administration
3. Prior experience as a software developer
4. Information security professional certifications encouraged (SANS GIAC, CISSP, etc.)
5. Experience with an e-commerce company or financial software is a plus
6. Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services
7. Strong bias for action with proven ability to handle time-sensitive security tasks
8. Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion
9. Curiosity to dig several layers deep into technical solutions with an eye toward continuous improvement
10. Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
