About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join our Finance team at the ECA International Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing financial insights to assist in decision-making. The Management Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the company by preparing management accounts, analysing financial data, and contributing to the overall strategic planning.
Requirements
Key responsibilities:
* Management Accounts: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed financial analysis to inform business decisions.
* Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts, providing explanations for any discrepancies.
* Reporting: Generate regular financial reports and present findings to senior management, providing insights to support strategic planning.
* Cost Control: Monitor and analyse costs, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Month-End Close: Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
* Support Audit: Assist in preparing for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to queries.
* Business Partnering – assist the team and wider business in providing necessary drill down and commercial input
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA qualification.
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (desirable).
Experience:
* 2+ years of experience in a management accounting role.
* Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Previous experience in a SaaS or technology-driven environment (advantageous).
Skills and Behaviours:
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to build strong relationships across the business
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the initiative to drive continuous improvement.
