We are recruiting a Part-Time, Term Time (38 weeks per year) Technician - Art & Design for our Creative and Digital Art Department based at our Aylesbury Campus.
To act as a specialist Art Technician for the Creative and Digital Art's Department across all Art areas working as part of a technical team with our current technician within the creative team and elsewhere within the College as required for academic and commercial activities.
The successful candidate will be required to:
1. Provide supervision of students in the subject areas required as appropriate, given the resources available and within the agreed and approved current timetable.
2. Supervise all commercial activities within the designated area including weekend working as directed by Curriculum Manager.
3. Control stock and issue materials to students.
4. Prepare resources, including art kits for students' use in classrooms and vocational areas, and ensure equipment is maintained correctly and kept clean.
5. Advise course tutors of the need for replacement stock and materials.
6. Raise material/equipment requisitions, receive, check and store goods in accordance with College procedures.
7. Provide specialist art & design knowledge and skills in one or more areas of Art & Design (e.g., Painting/Printmaking/Sculpture/3D/Time Based Media) in support of the delivery of specialist art & design pathways covered within the Creative & Digital Arts department.
8. Support the planning of external enrichment activities including gathering transportation quotes and managing online store payments.
