You possess sound knowledge of computerised financial systems and have extensive spreadsheet skills. You are capable of working with minimal supervision under pressure to meet deadlines, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You have a solid understanding of accounting and financial procedures. Your ability to communicate effectively in English is essential, and it's desirable if you can also communicate in Welsh. You are a team player who can also initiate tasks independently. You are adept at interpreting regulations and guidelines to provide relevant advice and guidance. What the Job Involves The role involves providing professional accountancy services to Senior Managers for various services within the Council. You will assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and control of central support budgets. Your duties include offering financial advice, supporting budget planning, conducting regular meetings with budget managers, and assisting in account closure at the end of the financial year. You will support treasury management and bank reconciliation processes, aid the Insurance and Tax Manager in compliance issues, and coordinate financial/numeric returns for the Welsh Government. You'll liaise with audits, coordinate responses to information requests, and update relevant financial data on internal and external websites. The role requires establishing strong working relationships, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace.
