Ever felt like your skills could be used to make a real difference? We are partnering with a large primary Academy in Burgess Hill who are on the lookout for an Executive Assistant & Attendance Officer who’s ready to dive in, roll up their sleeves, and play a crucial part in their school’s success.
This school doesn’t just follow the same old corporate processes. They are part of Durrington Multi Academy Trust (DMAT), a network that’s all about high standards, continuous growth, and creating environments where both staff and pupils thrive. They are looking for someone to join their dynamic team, where your input won’t just be valued—it’ll be essential.
The Role:
You’ll be juggling two key areas. As Executive Assistant, you’ll provide top-notch, confidential support to the Headteacher, managing diaries, meetings, and all that behind-the-scenes action that keeps things ticking. You’ll also be the point of contact for staff, parents, and external partners—making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
As our Attendance Officer, you’ll be leading the charge on attendance, monitoring daily pupil records, creating reports, and working closely with parents to make sure kids are in school and safe. You’ll also work with the wider team on safeguarding and ensure the school’s attendance policy is followed and updated.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Supporting the Headteacher: Keep them organised, on top of tasks, and running like a well-oiled machine. You’ll also be the first point of contact for parents and staff, making sure issues are dealt with quickly and professionally.
2. Attendance: Lead the school’s attendance processes, making sure the data is accurate, pupils are where they should be, and parents are kept in the loop when necessary.
3. HR & Safeguarding: Help with recruitment and the school’s HR processes, keeping everything legal, compliant, and in line with the latest guidelines.
4. Making Connections: Build relationships with parents, staff, and external agencies—helping to ensure the best outcomes for the pupils.
Why this school?
1. You’ll be part of a team that’s focused on growth, high standards, and continuous improvement.
2. We’re all about building a positive, inclusive culture for both staff and pupils.
3. Our outdoor spaces (including forest school, allotments, and an environmental area) are pretty great for learning outside the classroom.
4. You’ll get the chance to develop and grow through DMAT, with access to professional development and shared resources.
If you’re organised, proactive, and ready to make a difference, this is your chance to join a school where you’ll be appreciated, supported, and have the opportunity to really grow in your career.
