Mechanical Drafter in Cheswick, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a Drafter to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.
Your Responsibilities:
1. You will prepare solid models and drawings, tooling, and manufacturing effort from master assemblies, layouts, sketches, specifications, and/or general instructions.
2. Prepare solid models and complete detail, assembly, manufacturing, and inspection drawings including Bill of Materials for products, parts, components, assemblies, apparatus, tools, dies, gauges, fixtures, jigs, etc. from master assemblies, layouts, and general instructions as assigned.
3. Coordinate detail drawings of parts or assemblies being prepared involving an inter-relationship of operation or function with other detailed parts or assemblies. Ensure accuracy and completeness of models and drawings with all necessary views and illustrations.
4. Make additions to, or changes in, existing drawings and models. Revise drawings as required from marked prints and written or verbal instructions.
5. Communicate and coordinate activities with the Lead Graphic Designer when assigned to a Project Team.
6. Obtain proper information for drawings from department manuals, standard books, engineering reference handbooks, material and process specifications, supplier catalogs, etc. to determine dimensions, tolerances, finishes, etc.
7. Maintain and utilize the Product Life Cycle Manager (PLM) system for searching storage, retrieval, and release of databases.
8. Check to ensure accuracy of own work, including preparation of models and assemblies for clearance analysis.
9. Investigate shop and supply management issues caused by drawing information and determine the solution and make proper corrections.
10. Interact with customers, suppliers, and other external personnel during assigned projects.
11. Keep abreast of advances in design, modeling, and drafting practices, techniques, materials and processes, and available standard design products from suppliers that may be used in the design projects.
12. Perform any other graphic designer (design/drafting) function of similar or less complex nature.
What You Bring:
1. 1+ years of drafting experience.
2. Associate degree in design drafting focused on mechanical equipment design or the equivalent.
3. Detail oriented with the ability to learn on the fly.
4. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
5. Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance.
