Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-paced and vibrant team. Supporting the Urgent and Emergency Care Directorate, the successful post-holder will ensure appropriate medical and clinical cover in the emergency department and acute medical unit on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job
Junior Doctor Rota Management
The Rota Coordinator's key responsibilities lie within planning and managing the consultant and junior doctor rotas. This role will involve working closely with the clinical teams and operational management team to ensure the rotas are compliant with service delivery. The Rota Coordinator works proactively to source cover for gaps on the rota for clinic and ward cover. Responsibilities include managing rota and capacity gaps, escalating, and supporting the actions to address.
One post is based at St Richard's, and one post at Worthing.

The rota coordinator has responsibility for planning and managing the consultant and junior doctor rotas. This role will involve working closely with the operational management team to ensure the rotas are compliant in delivering service requirements and managing capacity gaps.

Experience/Qualifications
* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of experience, including 5 GCSE (A*- C) which must include English and Maths
* Evidence of recent further professional development
* Good working experience with Microsoft applications and digital tools and applications
* Experience in the healthcare sector
Skills
* Able to acquire and apply knowledge and understanding of Trust policies, standard operating procedures and rota rules of medical administration
* Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain strong working relationships with key people and teams.
* Good planning skills with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
* Able to problem-solve, demonstrate initiative, explore options and engage with colleagues for support in implementing mitigation plans and solutions to ensure appropriate levels of cover.
* Able to make improvements within own role and team approach to rota management.
* Proven track record of delivering high quality rota management
* Able to positively influence, negotiate and motivate others.
* Ability to balance competing priorities and achieve challenging deadlines, problem-solve and engage with colleagues to escalate concerns and form contingency plans and solutions.
* Track record of achieving performance, financial and service targets.
* Proactive rota management to ensure appropriate cover for leave and sickness.
* Able to identify gaps and trends in rotas and work proactively to fill gaps.
